Beauty of the Broken

            Beauty of the Broken

When have you started caressing the rusty metals of an old gate as if it's freshly painted? When have you admired the fallen leaves on the dusty road? When have you smiled at such a vulnerable and weak person? When have you taken pictures of the torn pieces of old stationery papers? When have you kept a letter with a sloppy handwriting? When have you noticed your admiration for things they call ugly?

One female noticed this weird perspective of hers. She was a lover of a lot of things that are beautiful in particular. Having no idea whether it's because of her obsession with optimism did she started to notice that people, even those whom she might call her haters, were not completely bad in her sight. At some point, she might silently giggle or smile at a habit or movement a person has been making even if it's normal just like the others. There are also instances when she would admire their appearances and think of how equally beautiful every person was on the hallways and roads she had passed by. And wanting to stay beside an enemy in a coffee shop all day with comfortable silence is most importantly unusual in a normal life flow we knew of. But this is how she lives.

We wonder why we can still see the positive one among the crowd of negatives on a person or a thing. As someone who is not yet old enough and experienced, I wouldn't know the real reason behind this yet. For now, it would be best to say that it is a healthy exercise of your perspective because from the way you describe others in your point of view, you could always get an easier chance to understand others up to the depths of their personalities. That way, interactions and relationships will get better, more exciting, and more healthy-living. Because subjectively, maybe, beauty is defined on how we see it--without any exact words or actions but spontaneous yet reassuring ones.

  4. Nasira na ang mystery...naku...anyways, this is really nice...weird though, or unusual...but then again, weirdly beautiful...i am a big fan of the observant, the optimist, the bizarre...cool post...and it is duly noted and reflected seeing the "positive one among the crowd of negatives"; and as broken as it may seem...the cracks i feel are only an illusion...its actually connected becoming an aesthetic...

    1. "The cracks I feel are only are illusion." Cool, can I use that for my next entry on a website, sir? Haha..anyways, that unusual reflection above is part of what I REALLY can't express well in any way except writing.
