Poems of this Generation

Feelings

By Patricia Anne Calvo

For what I say is my emotions’ seal
I shall limit
My words to only what I feel
I prefer the truth than an enchanting reel
I’d prefer reality than what is surreal
To me, to find true love, is a zeal
If yours or my feelings fail to congeal
I won’t mind shifting my steering wheel

Dreams
By Patricia Anne Calvo

When I plan to love you for as long as I live?
First in mind every morning
And dreams of you by the evening
How much more can I give?
I’ll love you more than you’ll ever know
And the one you can be free with as a dove?
And everyday it continues to grow

Are you Love?
By Patricia Anne Calvo

The one to be the right to your left glove?
We won’t wait weeks, months, but more
But I won’t think of that as a bore
Because you’re everything that I’ve asked for
Can’t wait for you to walk through the front door
                 I don’t care, it’s worth the wait

Pie in the Sky

by: Mariella Pauline Gutierrez

Fingertips reaching out endlessly,
Pupils wavering at the sky hopelessly,
Wondering why the society is against your plans,
And antagonists waving out with flying pans.

You have an idea, a concept, a dream,
And so are your fellow people in their own realm
But there is just this little difference
That yours were high as the sky, an impossible preference.

But though shall not be sad,
Because your hopes were not that bad.
It will be possible if you start small, And
then, like magic, victory will be your call.

Fingertips reaching out endlessly, Pupils
 wavering at the sky hopelessly
Hold on to the strand of your hopes tighter.
For him, for her, for them, for the society, for the better.

Heroes Defined

By Mariella Pauline Gutierrez

They danced to the beat of a different drum
From their very own road they will come
Will paint the world with black and white
An ironic combination of emotions kept tight.

Their ideas swim from the depths of reality
That shallow minds often classify them surreality
Truth is, there’s this word called creativeness
That covers the rough skin into tenderness.

Today you call them strange
When they’re only people who wanted change
A change for the sake of the society
and some particular who They’re called heroes,
you’ve forgotten them, don’t you?

The Philippine Pen
By Mariella Pauline Gutierrez

You write some good stuff, what language do you use? You are great and skilled, what language do you use?

You can persuade and influences, from which country are you? You write so well but first things first, how nationalist are you?

The restless days when you write with emotion The fingers on one hand getting stiff and you question

For what, whom, or why do I write this thing Is it for myself, the society, or anything?

“Country” is a word one should never forget It should stay in your mind before you regret

The land you were born in deserves an expectation That you will protect and love your own nation.

The strangers passed to ruin our culture And made our eyes look at them in the future But why would we, Filipinos, let them to do so

When we are expected nationalism to forego?
heThe drops of ink are the number of hearts Who dedicated themselves and all of their parts

With endless number of pages that tell us one message Being proud of our nation is the best pilgrimage.

12 Midnight
 By Mariella Pauline Gutierrez

Twelve could mean a lot of things Twelve can be the number itself

Twelve could mean how much money she brings, But here twelve is the time to wake up yourself.

When twelve strikes it means another day Another tomorrow, a new future

You tend to reflect what you’ve done yesterday

Anything good? Anything better?

Have you done something for your culture?

Twelve is a number that reminds you dear citizen
To escape surrealism and battle with reality

A tap on your shoulder to say you’re awaken

Somebody needs your attention, the name is Country!

The Filipino Bullet
 By Mariella Pauline Gutierrez

Who thought that only villains could shoot? And heroes will lose and fall on their foot? Guns don’t choose the hand that will hold

But wait for the one who gets hot in the cold

Once in our lifetime we choose our own target The intense emotions are suppressed in your pocket Waiting for the villains to appear

And end their plans that we call severe

Filipinos! It’s time, have we had enough?

From sufferings, misgovernance and colonizers’ bluff?

Let us raise our guns high up in the sky

It will serve as our hopes to be free and fly high.

Opisyales

Reklamador
Isinulat ni Judith Anne Jabson

Nakakakinis ang pilipinas
Walang asenso sa pilipinas
Madumi ang pilipinas
Walang kwenta ang pilipinas.

 Ano ang kahihinatnan ng bansa?
 Kung puro reklamo
 Kung puro na lamang negatibo?
Nakasanayan nay an ng mga Pilipino

 Walang magbabago sa ating bansa,
 Kung lahat ay nakatunganga.
 Kung walang may gumagawa
 Lahat tayo’y nakatunganga

 Baguhin natin muna ang sarili
 Mga makakabuti ay gawin
 At makikita natin
Ang bansa ay unti unting magbabago.

Pagunlad ay Makakamit
     isinulat ni Judith Anne Jabson

 Ako ay nagtataka
Bakit di ko Makita ang pag-unlad ng bansa?
 Puro suliranin at problema.
 Pumupuno sa aking mga mata

 Simulan natin sa problemang maliit
 Maging huwaran tayo sa paligid
 Maraming bagay ang pwedeng gawin.
Tiyak, pag-unlad ay makakamit.

 Lahat tayo at pwedeng tumulong.
 Mapa-unlad ang paligid at mapayabong
 Sa ating mga simpleng paraan,
 Siguradong unlad ang ating Nayon.

Media or Fame?

By: Judith Anne Jabson

Children almost see all things today.
They know that life doesn’t have to be this way.
 They see all the lies.
So that’s why they close their eyes.

All the gun and knife fights today.
Why all hate and war started this way? I
s media part of the blame?

Or all people, all the fame should take the blame.

Kabataan Ngayon

 Buhay ba nila’y balewala?

Sino nga ba ang dapat sisihin? Gobyerno na dapat ay may solusyon. Puro salita ang gobyerno.

Sila mismo ang nagkakait ng maginhawang buhay.

  5. "12 Midnight"

    This one is a conundrum!
It is consciously made that way...
    Therefore, speaks more than others

A clean slate for the day...
